Silver Award at the Europe Responsible Tourism Awards 2025 from ICRT Global, sponsored by EasyJet Holidays
Castelli Hotel in Zakynthos has been honored with the Silver Award in the category "Responsible All-Inclusive Hotels of Europe" at the Europe Responsible Tourism Awards 2025, organized by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT Global) and presented on 16 October 2025 in Brussels, with EasyJet Holidays as sponsor.
This distinction recognizes all-inclusive hotels that actively practice Responsible Tourism, minimizing negative impacts while enhancing positive benefits for local communities and the natural environment.
What the judges said
Castelli Hotel is a family-run, adults-only retreat in Zakynthos, built around the island's oldest eucalyptus tree - the owners reduced the originally planned number of rooms to preserve and protect it.
The hotel emphasizes local sourcing and the use of regional products, offering homegrown olive oil, wine from local producers, and other local specialties.
Guests have the opportunity to connect with the local culture through activities such as olive harvesting and cooking classes.
The judges stated: "Castelli Hotel is an exemplary example of a resort that harmoniously integrates with nature and communicates Responsible Tourism clearly and sensitively to its guests."

Our hotel was designed around the island's oldest eucalyptus tree - standing on our grounds for over two centuries before the hotel was built.
We work every day to reduce our footprint and to give back to our local community, improving our results year after year.
